African
Afrcian Dance is usually used in relation to dances from the sub-Saharan and west Africa. A key characteristic is that it is polycentric which means that the body works in different sections in relation to different rhythms in the music. The form is usually seen as lively and energetic, in reality this is not always true. It is also used as a way of telling stories. Many social dance forms such as Lindy hop and Break Dancing have roots in dances styles from Africa
